A bird in a cage is not living in its natural state. Any bird - be it a parakeet or an eagle - was meant to fly. To have wings and be stuck in a small wire world forever was not part of the plan. You have a way to soar too, but you are not spreading your wings. Why? Nothing is stopping you from indulging in a natural talent in the hopes of having great success, so perhaps the cage you are in is of your own making. You are not a bird, of course, and so you have options. Use your creativity to escape whatever is holding you back, or before too long you may lose the will to fly.
